IPS requires the following:

• Design Engineers

Duties and responsibilities

  • To act as the appointed representative of IPS.
  • Co-ordinate the workflow of drawing activities through the IPS design office.
  • Maintenance of local working environments.
  • Co-ordinate draughting resource from design stage through to As-Build phase.
  • Generate and implement IPS local procedures.
  • Check data output for integrity and accuracy.
  • Ensure that all records are kept updated and documentation is in accordance with IPS procedures.
  • Act as first point of contact for draughting duties and respond in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Provide knowledge and skills in computer aided design techniques for the use of Microstation CAD and associated CAD technologies.
  • Ensure statutory/IPS health and safety requirements are met, along with 3rd party/other operators regulations.
  • Perform quality assurance duties and implement techniques to ensure compliance where necessary.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all drawing deliverables for multi-discipline design projects, from intitial kick-off to issue of deliverables.
  • Liaising with clients, sub-contractors/suppliers and contract support staff as required.
  • To undertake any function, within reason to ensure the smooth running of the department/working on own initiative as and when requested to do so.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time, as may be reasonably required of them.
  • To deputise for the Technical Manager, in periods of absence, or upon request, for project related issues.

Qualifications

  • HNC/ONC or equivalent in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering would be advantageous, but not mandatory.
  • At least 5 years' experience working in a high technology or civil engineering environment, preferably with site working experience.
