Southern Rail refurbishments

Client: Southern Railway

Previous projects with Southern Railway covered the communications and security systems and also improvements to the Local Area Network (LAN). This project involved the utilisation of Cat5e and fibre optic data transmission solutions. As part of a major network-wide upgrade, the LAN improvements are enabling remote connection into station security and communications systems.

These improvements will provide the ability to remotely monitor and record station CCTV, enhancing passenger and staff security.

There are also additional works providing enabling and installation services, supporting the wider introduction of automatic ticket barriers, ticket vending machines, customer information system, voice communications and customer information pods.

Other systems upgraded were CCTV, Help Points, Visual Information Displays, Clocks, Public Address and Voice Alarm (PA/VA) and the associated fibre optic and Cat5e cabling.
