Hand Trace & Tag Works
IPS is in the process of carrying out hand trace & tag works at various London Underground stations. Further details relating to this project will be featured in the next edition of On Track (to receive a copy please email sales@ips-ltd.co.uk).
First Great Western Win
In May IPS was awarded a contract by First Great Western for the procurement, installation, commissioning and maintenance of 365 help points at 210 stations.
This project which will improve the quality of information presented to customers is due to be delivered by February 2010.
Marble Arch Station Modernisation
IPS has been awarded a contract for the design, supply and installation of the communications system at Marble Arch Station by YJLi.
This contract is due to be delivered by December 2010.
Installation of Electronic Service Update Boards (ESUBs)
IPS has been awarded this contract by Metronet Rail to install Electronic Service Update Boards (ESUBs), formerly known as Customer Information Displays (CIDs) across the network.
These boards will allow passengers to receive real-time information relating to the service on the different tube lines.
British Transport Police (BTP) CCTV Downloads
Postfield Systems (our maintenance division - acquired by IPS Ltd in July 2005) has been carrying out British Transport Police (BTP) CCTV downloads on behalf of London Underground for over a year now and the contract has recently been extended until 2010.
The dedicated team carry out 100+ downloads during every four week period and cover a number of LU stations. They have strict targets and procedures to adhere to due to the nature of the contract.
Whilst we are contracted to respond to each and every download within 48hrs, our average 'time to completion' is just 18hrs 16 mins.

SSL OPO (One Person Operation) works on Non-Metronet Stations
The SSL OPO works on non-Metronet stations will deleiver compliant OPO systems where deficiencies have been identified in the existing OPO system. The Scope of works will include the design & installation of OPO: OPO mirors, camera/monitor system and platform end barriers (PEB's).
This work will occur at the following stations:
Wimbeldon, Richmond, Upminster, West Ham, Barking & Wembley park.
Maintenance Contract at King's Cross St Pancras Station
IPS has had their Maintenance Contract at King's Cross St Pancras Station extended with Metronet until 2010. The contract provides corrective support 24hrs, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and covers a range of equipment including: CCTV, Public Address, Passenger Help Points, Clocks and the Local Area Network. Planned maintenance is also part of the contract to ensure the system is in good operational order throughout the year.
