Client: London Underground
For the Olympics in 2012, there was greater need than ever to improve the CCTV system within the London Underground network to provide heightened security and crowd control.
London Underground looked into providing CCTV images from the LU infrastructure to the British Transport Police (BTP) facility, and identified that the BTP CCTV assets were in need of urgent upgrading. The contract involved upgrading 120 new Digital Video Recorders (DVR) at over 60 stations and included wiring and commissioning activities. The project had many benefits, including centralised documentation, live streaming and recorded CCTV images over an IP network.
